Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer in women due to cervical tests and the HPV vaccination that prevents this type of cancer. The HPV test looks for a virus that can cause cell changes.

According to a CDC report, HPV vaccines can protect women from the types of HPV that cause most types of cervical cancer, the most important thing you can do to help prevent cervical cancer is to pass screening tests which begin regularly at 21 years of age.
If you are 30 or older, you have three options: you can get a cervical test only, an HPV test, or an HPV test and a cervical test together. If the test results are normal, you can wait three years to be retested if you only have a Pap test, or five years to retest if you only have an HPV test or an HPV test. and a Pap test together.

If the test results are abnormal, don't worry, cervical cancer is very curable when detected and treated early.
HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer. Children should be vaccinated against HPV at the age of 11 to 12 to help prevent cervical cancer and other types of cancer.
